So.... I'm thinking about getting a lil' dwarf bunny:) Barbie Johnson (my mother) advised me last year when I really wanted a puppy not to get one. I had to physically stop myself daily because they are just the cutest and I can't handle it!!! She suggested if In a year from then I still wnated one...then consider it...So...it's been a year and a half AND I STILL WANT A FUZZY FRIEND IN MY APPT!!!! But...recognizing that puppies are basically children and take a lot of work i'm thinking of getting a LIL' BUNNZIEPOOP!!! See the benefits:
-Much tinier than a puppy -still fuzzy and cuddly -doesn't need a walk -can stay home on it's own for longer periods of time than a puppy and be okay -cheaper than a puppy -in the summer it's cage can just sit on the fire escape so it's not too smelly -everywhere has outdoor seating so i can get him a little leash and he can go out to eat with my friends and I -HIs little carrier will be tiny so he'll be easy to travel with - if i clean his cage daily he wont be smelly -he eats veggies and water just like me so we can share food -his poop is easy to get because they are in nicely packed pellets -he's just the right amount of loving to have a friend in my room with me!!! -he doens't need a lot of room so my small appt. is perfect -travel on plane easier than a dog i'm sure... I NEED your advice!!! i can't think of any reasons not to get this bunny...but i'm sure there are some. But do they really outway the perfectness of a bunny lil' fuzzy friend who i will name Kevin?!
SOOOOO a few things. Bunnies can stay home for longer periods of time but they will still be dead when you come home if you leave them for to long like when you travel. Be careful when leaving your bunny on the fire escape for a couple reason 1, when I did that mine thought it could run down the steps and died & when mom left my other one on the patio in the sun when we came back is was fried, literally. Oh and you might conveniently forget it's even out there. It's poop is small but ABUNDANT, the cage needs to be cleaned practically every other day, otherwise when you pick up your snuggly Bunnie it will have dingle berries hanging from it.
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER, take good care of it and keep it cleaned and I think it's a great idea. They do make great little companions. I loved my bunnies, even when I had them for dinner.
